Competition

Competing is optional here. Plenty of members never step onto a tournament mat, and that's completely fine. But for the ones who want to test what they've learned under pressure, the whole gym is in their corner.

Number one,
Male No-Gi

One of our own finished 2025 ranked #1 Male No-Gi in the BJJAO League — gold medal around his neck and the winner's cheque in hand.

He trains in the same classes, on the same mats, as everyone else at Mentality. Like every competitor on this page, he once walked in for a first class not knowing what he was doing.

Gi and No-Gi, podiums and hard lessons. Every match — win or lose — comes back to the gym as something to work on in class the next week.
